Art By Monday
My artwork challenges political and cultural issues within the African American community. With each piece, I seek to deconstruct the negative stereotypes of Black women with which we are bombarded on a daily basis. I also address feminine and vulnerable fragments often ignored by society. On the whole, I create work in multiple collections with a theme while using eye-catching and vibrant colors. My work is meant to cause the viewer to stop and engage in conversations relating to social constructs within our society. And because I struggle with expressing my thoughts and experiences in every way but art, I paint in exchange for freedom.
